Little Jessica's wish...the true story!

You've read this story...

Jessica Mydek is seven years old and is suffering from an acute and very rare case of cerebral carcinoma. This condition causes severe malignant brain tumors and is a terminal illness. The doctors have given her six months to live.

As part of her dying wish, she wanted to start a chain letter to inform people of this condition and to send people the message "to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment", a chance that she will never have.

Furthermore, the American Cancer Society and several corporate sponsors have agreed to donate three cents toward continuing cancer research for every new person that gets forwarded this message.

Please give Jessica and all cancer victims a chance. If there are any questions, send them to the American Cancer Society at acs@aol.com

And now...the truth!

Hi Michael,

I have been forwarded the letter concerning little Jessica and her wish. I have also been told by one of our visitors to wowzone.com that this whole story is a hoax. Since it appears that the story originated from you, could you please be kind enough to let me know the truth, so that I can pass it on my site. If it is true, and progress is being made, I would like to post the follow-ups on our site. I would really appreciate it if you can tell me anything regarding this story, or where I can find out more.

Thanks in advance for your concern and help.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Hello Carmen,

The letter concerning little Jessica and her wish was a hoax. I never wrote nor forwarded the letter to anyone. It appears that someone had broken into my account and used my email address to send the message. Numerous other people have emailed me concerning the message and I had to explain to them that the letter was fake. Nevertheless, I am sorry to have bothered you with this false letter. Personally, I am extremely angry at the individual who would be so pathetic as to play a joke like this. If you would please inform others of this letter and explain my innocence, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Michael Fang

Hi Michael,

I'm sorry to hear about all this, and I want to do what is best for all concerned. Do you think it's better to drop it altogether from the site, or to keep the story there and include this correspondence so that we can clear you at least. Maybe if we drop it, people will forget, but if the letter is still circulating, this may be a good way to let them know your side of it. Let me know what you think. Thanks for your quick attention, and wishing you only well,

Carmen

Dear Carmen,

That is very considerate of you to offer to help me in clearing my name. If it is not too much trouble, I would like the opportunity to explain to people the falsity behind the message and why my name is found on the bottom of the letter. Please let me know what you need from me. I can write a more detailed explanation for the message or you could simply post up my previous email to you.

Thank you so much,
Michael Fang

The letters speak for themselves. Michael Fang never wrote the story of Little Jessica's wish. Several variations of this letter with different names have circulated the internet since 1996. None of them are true.

But...

It's a good wish! Live life to the fullest, and enjoy every moment! Make that wish today!

Wishing only well,

Carmen Colombo
